While we are becoming increasingly conscious about the amount of single-use plastic and packaging we throw away, designers are getting to work to consider how the things we buy can be better designed for circularity, with the end (or not) of its life in mind. Our London Chairman, Dorothy Mackenzie sits down with sustainability charity Hubbub to discuss designing for a circular economy.
Circularity is about keeping things in a loop, it’s about getting more from less and not wasting things. We have to think about how to avoid packaging waste. If you take a lot of waste out of a system, it should in the long term, save money as well as save negative environmental impact. — Dorothy Mackenzie
